Mallows Bay Shipwrecks:
Preservation Today
In 2019, Mallows Bay became the first national marine sanctuary in Maryland, which protects the cultural heritage of the shipwrecks too. The area is now run by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Visitors can view the shipwrecks from the shore or boat beside them, while also viewing the wildlife that have come to call the ships home.
