Exploring The Abandoned Forest Haven Asylum in Maryland | Very Creepy
The Forest Haven Asylum in Fort Meade Maryland, is a well known abandoned property that has been rotting away since 1991. Out of every place I've explored, this one surely has the worst history, and while exploring it, I was starting to feel very bad vibes from the place which I didn't mention while filming. Either way, there's some cool things left behind here, and I hope y'all enjoy the video! FOREST HAVEN ASYLUM | DARK PAST
Forest Haven Asylum established in 1925 was a grand place for mental ill patients with its state of the art facility. In the 1950’s most of Forest Haven needed to be updated. Financial problems were hitting hard on most programs made for the disabled and understaffing became a huge problem. As not enough care could be given to each individual their would be chaos without order. Patients would roam around to going anywhere and doctors became incompetent for their needs. Abuse would shortly follow. Many stories of the level and degree of abuse ranged. Death tolls were at staggering Heights and quickly hidden to be thrown to the morgue to be given a nameless burial in an open field. The facility faced multiple lawsuits that resulted in closing Forest Haven just to reopen then shutting down for good on October 14th 1991. Forest Haven with its dark past becomes a reminder of what should and should be not hidden within aces of woods. The souls of each individual are one by one resting for someone to tell their story.

In this episode we take a look inside of the remains of the Forest Haven hospital. Years of improper medical car and poor living conditions made this facility one of the most deadly institutions of its time. While the buildings are heavily decayed, there is still some medical equipment left behind. http://theproperpeople.com JOIN US ON: http://facebook.com/theproperpeople http://twitter.com/theproperpeople http://instagram.com/theproperpeople https://www.reddit.com/r/theproperpeople https://tiktok.com/@theproperpeople https://discord.gg/theproperpeople Thanks to Musicbed for providing the music in this video. http://share.mscbd.fm/theproperpeople (Affiliate Link) Intro Music: https://artist.landr.com/music/672985173835 Enjoying our videos? Beyond Forest Haven
Documentary about the history of Forest Haven, The District of Columbia's former institution for persons with intellectual disabilities. in 1991 the District was the second jurisdiction in the nation to close the doors to its institution. This began a journey to build a better life in the community for persons with disabilities. Sadly, a vision to guide this journey was never fully developed or realized.
