McMillan Sand Filtration Site:
Preservation Today

Locals call the redevelopment of the sand filtration site one of the most cursed plans in D.C.'s recent history. Since 1987, the city wanted to redevelop the site for various means, but it never moved beyond talking. In 2021, the court ruled that demolition could begin on the site, but protests continue to happen to this day.
